He's got the perfect name for a parts guy. Bolt. Now, after thirteen years at the helm as site manager, and years of moving a lot of nuts, bolts, fenders and more, Josh Bolt has ratcheted his way to full-tilt ownership of a familiar and historic local business which bears his own name going forward.
Since 2002 Josh Bolt managed the original Territorial Road location of August Pohl Auto Wreckers, founded 95 years ago in 1921. Those 13-years in charge were the perfect breeding ground for his takeover last summer when he purchased the 10,000 square foot warehouse from Mike Lieberman who has shifted his focus to a major new recycling center in Berrien Springs.
Bolt has re-branded the 6-acre salvage yard and warehouse at 2670 Territorial Road as Josh's Auto Parts, where he continues to maintain a top quality business in the tradition of August Pohl and company.
Josh is a graduate of St. Joseph High School and Michigan State University. He purchased the building, yard and full inventory from Lieberman and opened up shop as Josh's Auto Parts at mid-summer last year.
He tells me that the shop continues to specialize in late model foreign and domestic recycle car parts including engines, transmissions, tires, rotors, doors, fenders, and virtually everything in between. As has been the case for decades, most cars on the premises are purchased through insurance auctions, although Josh also buys cars through private owners as well.
While the specialty of the house is late model auto parts, Josh also carries a wide selection of parts for older vehicles and always back their used parts with an industry-standard 30-day standard warranty and the opportunity for nationwide shipping.
