A broad daylight robbery at the Niles branch of Chemical Bank is under investigation by Berrien County Sheriff's Detectives and they're asking for your help. They want the public to see the photo shared with this story and help in identifying the man who escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.

Sheriff's Deputies have been joined by the FBI, Michigan State Police and the Niles Police Department in the search for the unidentified man who waltzed into Chemical Bank at 1835 S. 11th Street in Niles around 1pm and passed a note to the unsuspecting teller. He then fled the bank with the cash. Nobody was injured in the robbery.

The robber is described as being a black male, standing 5'8" of medium build and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the heist. The photo and information has also been posted on the Sheriff's Department's Facebook page, asking for anyone with information in the case to contact the Berrien County Sheriff's Detective Bureau by calling 269-983-7141, extension 7224.

No other details were available on the case regarding the manner in which the robber left, whether on foot or in a vehicle. How much money was taken was not disclosed, either.
