Eden Springs Christmas Train Adds a Run

While there were likely more than a few sad faces among those who were planning to take the last Christmas Train Ride during the Eden Springs Park at House of David’s Festival of Lights, nobody was more disappointed than my good friend, the Engineer of the house, Gordon Reay. In his inimitable accent he expressed great regret on Sunday that due to the severe weather conditions the last of the train rides which had been slated for later that day had to be canceled.

Now, however, he is like a child on Christmas morning spying under the tree the Red Ryder BB-Gun he’d been lusting after since the day after Halloween. That’s because, rather than disappoint the masses of people who were hopeful of taking that colorful loop of tens of thousands of Christmas lights and other glorious displays at Eden Springs Park along M-139 in Benton Harbor, they have added one extra bonus night to make up for the missed Sunday run this past weekend.

This Friday evening, December 23rd from 4pm until 9pm, the Festival of Lights will reign supreme one last time in this 2016 Holiday Season. Tickets are still just $3 per person to ride the miniature train on its historic track through the park while kids of literally all ages come away with magical memories following the amazing ride.

For the past three weekends, hundreds, if not thousands, of folks have enjoyed rides at the historic park and many more had hoped to do so on Sunday until Mother Nature forced park operator’s hands and grounded the train that day.
