Help Yourself & United Way at the Same Time

Last year, United Way Campaign organizers for the Whirlpool employee campaign had a terrific brainstorm to sell off a series of products that the company had used for demonstration and display purposes and other things. The idea was to sell them to either fellow employees in search of a bargain-basement price, or to the general public at large with all proceeds going towards the annual corporate campaign. Needless to say, the result was an overwhelming success.

In fact, the big sale a year ago was so well received and such an instant success that they have elected to do it again, and if you want to be a part of the deal you'll have to act fast.

The Whirlpool Summer Appliance Liquidation Sale is planned for this Saturday, June 11 to benefit Whirlpool Twin Cities' employee United Way Campaign.

The summer "Overhauled, Old & Obsolete" Appliance Liquidation Sale this Saturday will run from 9am until 4pm only. All proceeds will go directly to the 2016 Whirlpool employee United Way campaign. The sale will take place at the Center for Partner Development (CPD) building at 1800 Paw Paw Avenue in Benton Harbor, on the backside of the administration center campus north of town.

The sale, which is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, will include more than 200 deeply discounted Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid and Whirlpool brand ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers at significant savings. All products are covered by a 1 year warranty.

All product purchased that day, must be picked up that day, or for an additional $100 donation, home deliveries will be available inside a 15-mile radius. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment, however there will be no checks accepted and no early sales prior to the posted start time of 9am.

Bring your neighbors, friends and relatives and shop, shop, shop!

Company officials tell me that the expect to raise more than $80,000 with this sale. That's a lot of United Way services for residents of Berrien and Cass Counties, thanks to the generosity of Whirlpool Corporation and their traditionally outstanding employee campaign for United Way of Southwest Michigan.
