A new economic development partnership unveiled at mid-summer has born fruit in the form of successful recruitment of a new Economic Development Consultant for Van Buren County. The search launched at mid-June for an experienced, connected and talented person for that role has ended as Kinexus has hired Zach Morris to head up that initiative.
Kinexus, as we reported here this summer, has teamed up with Van Buren County to launch economic development services for the county. The first step in that process was to find the right person to head things up.
Zachary Morris is a graduate of Decatur Public Schools, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Davenport University and is a Certified Business Solutions Professional. His previous experience includes serving as a Kinexus Business Services Manager where he worked with businesses of every size and sector throughout Southwest Michigan on workforce and economic development challenges.
After working with Kinexus, he went on to work in the private sector for the Utility and Medical Device industries where he successfully led initiatives that solved critical workforce issues and transformed how they attracted and retained talent.
Zachary joins Kinexus as a member of the Antwerp Township Planning Commission and is familiar with the economic development challenges affecting the community.
Kinexus CEO Todd Gustafson says, “We are excited to have found someone that is a lifelong resident of Van Buren County.” He adds, “Zach’s knowledge and relationships within the community will help drive our efforts to lead the economic development activities that help Van Buren County grow and attract businesses that create jobs.”
