If you were a Michigan Craft Beer — which one would you be? Once you've got that formulated in your head, wrap your brain around this: the current economic impact of the craft beer industry in Michigan is north of $605-million. Last year alone, the 205 craft breweries in the Great Lakes State produced 769,897 barrels of craft brew for fans, friends and customers. So…would you be an IPA? A sour beer? A stout? The folks at Pure Michigan have been asking…and they are fully embracing the craft beer scene this fall.
As our craft beer scene continues to grow exponentially, Pure Michigan is sharing the good news of the more than 7,100 jobs created in the industry and that huge economic impact that is also attracting substantial numbers of aficionados from beyond our borders, with Michigan now sixth in the nation for pure numbers of microbreweries, brewpubs and craft brewers making up that rapidly rising industry.
From now through the end of November, Pure Michigan is featuring craft beer themed commercials and a unique digital campaign that asks Which Michigan Craft Beer Are You? and other social media interactive pitches asking you to take part by sharing pictures of your favorite beer or brewery using the hashtag #mibeer. The "Cheers to #mibeer" campaign wants us all to share our love of craft beer by posting photos and Vine videos with that hashtag. You can upload pics directly using this link:
Through the Thanksgiving weekend, photos that end up being posted on Twitter or Instagram and Vine that utilize the #mibeer tag will be showcased in that photo gallery at Michigan.org.
Pure Michigan has also created a full tilt landing page celebrating the state's craft beer communities complete with an interactive map to breweries in every corner of the state. Click this link for more: http://michigan.org/mibeer
Lorenz says that the team at Pure Michigan will team up with the Michigan Brewers Guild to host a Happy Hour Twitter Chat at 5:30pm on Wednesday, November 2nd, wherein everyone can join the conversation by following the hashtag #mibeer.
