They regularly get up before the sun rolls over the horizon in order to start to make things happen ever before other clubs see the light of day. Now, they’ve got a brand new tool to make things even brighter for the youth of Benton Harbor thanks to a new Endowment Fund as a critical component of their Foundation. The new fund has been introduced for the first time here in the 2016 holiday season, the season of giving.
Launched with an initial donation from a member, the Benton Harbor Sunrise Rotary Foundation is happy to announce it has established an Endowment Fund to support its mission of promoting literacy, numeracy, and personal development among the youth of Benton Harbor.
Don Mitchell, who serves as President of the Foundation commented on the news, saying, “We’re excited by this donation! This new fund will expand our ability to provide funds and grants that advance the mission of the foundation.”
The Endowment Fund joins the previously established Benton Harbor Alumni Scholarship Fund and the General Fund as tools to positively impact the youth of Benton Harbor. The foundation is a 501c(3) public charity and all donations are tax deductible.

The Benton Harbor Sunrise Rotary Club meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 a.m. in The Elks Lodge located at 601 Riverview in Benton Harbor, with a mission of helping the young people who are the future of the Benton Harbor community in Michigan’s Great Southwest.
