Stevensville Banker Turns to Insurance

Christopher Thompson is hopeful that his half dozen years as a private client banker will serve him well in his new career in the world of insurance. That's why he has ventured across the street and struck up an entirely new business as a Farmers Insurance Agent.

More than just proclaiming, "We are Farmers…pum, pu pum pum, pum pum pum," Thompson wants his JPMorgan Chase clients of the past six years and a whole lot of other future clients to know that he is bringing his banking background to insurance customers in order to "help them understand their coverage better, and review the whole picture to understand all of their needs."

Thompson spent six years on the opposite side of St. Joseph Avenue in the village of Stevensville working as a private client banker for Chase, but now he is focus on a client-centered approach to "build a customized wall of protection around their assets to insulate them from unforeseen risks."

Thompson, who trained with Farmers in Caledonia, outside of Grand Rapids, brings the Farmers Insurance brand to the marketplace in Stevensville for the first time. His new office, which opened for business on June 1st is located at 2727 W. John Beers Road in Stevensville…the intersection of John Beers Road and St. Joseph Avenue downtown.

You can reach him by phone at 269-408-8872.

The Farmers Insurance Agency story began with the simple goal of insurance the vehicle of rural farmers, much like those in and around the Stevensville-Baroda landscape, but over time as the world changed, so did Farmers.  Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the nation's largest insurers of not only vehicles, but homes and small businesses as well, while providing a wide range of other insurance and financial services products. The company now serves more than 10-million households with more than 19-million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of more than 48,000 exclusive and independent agents like Christopher Thompson and nearly 21,000 employees.

Chris earned a Bachelors degree in economics and management from Albion College and spent his first five years as Branch Manage for Wells Fargo, then moved on to Fremont Investment & Loan and Dominion Commercial before taking up his career with JPMorgan Chase.
