UFCU Adds Wygonik to Board

Paula Wygonik was exactly what the United Federal Credit Union Board of Directors had in mind when they established an Associate Director Program to help build a bench of future directors to help guide the financial institution into its future.

Wygonik, the dynamic young President of CE Competitive Edge in Stevensville, has been named by the Board of Directors at United Federal to a role as an associate director. As a result, she becomes part of a small cadres of people who are succession candidates for the board going forward, to ensure continuity of board leadership.

Competitive Edge is one of the largest promotional firms in America with headquarters in Stevensville, offering clients a collection of promotional products with an emphasis on quality and value, and has been named one of the “Top 50 Places to work in the Promotional Products Industry.”

Terry O’Rourke is President & CEO at United Federal Credit Union. He says, “We are excited to welcome Paula to the United Federal Credit Union board room.” He adds, “Her experience and insights will be invaluable to maintaining the financial stability of the credit union and preparing UFCU for the future.”

Wygonik has 25 years of marketing, sales, operations and general management experience in both international and entrepreneurial organizations. She strives to be an active leader in the Southwest Michigan community with involvement in the Michigan’s Great Southwest Strategic Leadership Council. She has previously served on non-profit boards such as the Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan. She has a degree in Marketing from Western Michigan University. She and her husband, Tom, live in Stevensville with their two children, Jillian and Nick.

She now becomes an associate member of the board for UFCU which has served members since 1949 in a system of more than 150,000 member/owners worldwide with managed assets in excess of $2-billion. Corporate headquarters are in St. Joseph with additional branches located in Arkansas, Indiana, North Carolina, Nevada and Ohio.
