Whirlpool Christens Argentinean Plant

What was once a logistics center for Whirlpool Corporation in South America has been transformed into a new cooking range manufacturing facility which will create 300 new jobs for Argentina. 

They cut the ribbon on the newly transitioned plant this week in La Tablada City in the Province of Buenos Aires. The event was also attended by Argentina's Production Minister, Francisco Cabrera and other government officials. They say the new facility will generate 300 direct and indirect jobs for Argentina.

William Custodio Vice President for Whirlpool Latin America. He says, "With this investment, we reaffirm our commitment to Argentina's industry growth." He adds, "We're proud to be a part of the community in La Tablada and produce two of the three main home appliance categories."
 
The new manufacturing lines will produce cooking ranges and washing machines and are equipped with the latest technologies, allowing the company to bring Whirlpool Corporation's purposeful product innovations to consumers. These innovations include appliances sized to accommodate big and small home spaces, as well as products with digital and electronic controls that allow users to set a specific time to turn appliances off.

Pablo Feresini is South Cone Director for Whirlpool Latin America. He says, "It's an honor for us to manufacture our products in Argentina." He also noted, "We are committed to developing products that distinguish our brands to the world."

Cabrera, the Argentinean Production Minister said, "The innovation and growth of local industry is the basis of the public agenda for the economic development of the country." 

Cooking ranges manufactured at the new facility will be comprised of more than 90% national components. To achieve this, the company will implement a program with 25 local suppliers in Argentina.
