Accounting/Advisory Firm Rehmann Adds IT Giant Trivalent to the Fold

The certified public accounting firm that handles several municipal and organizational audits in Michigan’s Great Southwest is growing again, acquiring a Top 100 managed IT service provider based in the Grand Rapids suburb of Grandville.

Rehmann, a top 40 accounting and advisory firm, and Trivalent Group, a top 100 managed IT service provider, will combine effective April 1. The unique combination brings together two established firms, launching a managed IT solutions practice that will broaden both firms’ service offerings.

Backed by experienced engineers, technicians and consultants, Trivalent Group provides managed services and other IT solutions to more than 700 clients. With offices in Grandville, Traverse City, Battle Creek, East Lansing and Midland, Trivalent Group specializes in managed services, managed cloud, cyber security, managed networks and business continuity. Trivalent Group’s depth will expand Rehmann’s cyber security and technology consulting offerings.

Randy Rupp is CEO at Rehmann. He says, “As the world becomes increasingly technology-driven, Rehmann is focused on staying ahead of our clients’ needs and helping them thrive long into the future.” He adds, “The addition of Trivalent Group will bring more core business solutions under one roof, allowing us to holistically serve our clients and help them reach their business goals. Combinations like this will ensure we continue to meet our clients growing business needs and anticipate future demands of businesses at any stage in their life cycle.”

Rupp says advancing the client experience was a critical factor in the move to join with Trivalent Group. Trivalent Group has established a “Relentless Service” philosophy, which parallels Rehmann’s forward-thinking service model called The Rehmann Experience. Both demonstrate a commitment to helping clients achieve their overall business goals.

Larry Andrus is CEO at Trivalent Group. He says, “We are thrilled to partner with Rehmann, and in doing so, we are maintaining the core values essential to our success—a focus on community and exceptional client service.” Andrus adds, “Together, we will bring insightful, complementary ideas to the table, helping clients meet future demands while keeping their greater business mission in mind.”

Trivalent Group will initially maintain its name while operating under the Rehmann umbrella. The firms will offer expanded capabilities immediately throughout the Midwest, with a full integration beginning in 2019. Larry Andrus will remain at the forefront of driving the strategic vision and future growth of this practice, while Randy Rupp will be CEO of both organizations.
