Benton Harbor Police Seek Public Help In Case of Missing Teen & Gun Thefts

Late this morning the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety updated this case by reporting that on Friday, March 24th, Anna Mae Taylor was located and returned to her family. They added that their department is continuing to investigate the matter.

Authorities are asking for your help in locating a missing teen from the City of Benton Harbor. The following was released this morning by Michael Clark, the Deputy Director of the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety:

On Wednesday, 03/21/2018 Officers of the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a missing 15-year-old female.  

The complainant said that her daughter, Anna Mae Taylor, was last seen at their residence around 1220 hours.  Anna is believed to be wearing blue jeans with holes in them and grey leggings underneath, a grey T-shirt, a blue Pelle-Pelle jacket with a fur lined collar.  Anna has a pierced nose and a long black and blond weave in her hair with two earrings in the tops of her ears.  Anna also wears a gold cross necklace.  Anna is described as a 15-year-old female, four feet eleven inches tall, 112 pounds and brown eyes.  

BHDPS is investigating this as a suspicious missing currently.  Anyone with information is requested to contact the Tip line at 269-927-0293 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP (7867)

BHDPS officers were assisted by the Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit. 

A short while later, Clark also issued a public plea for help in the case of stolen weapons:

On Monday, March 19th a house on Green Ave in the city of Benton Harbor was broken into and several handguns, assault rifles and ammunition were stolen.  The scene was processed, and evidence was collected and is being processed.

Anyone with information about this crime are asked to call the BHPD or the FBI Violent Crimes Task force.  A reward of up to $5,000 dollars is offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
