Fire Destroys Recreational Trailer at South Haven Area Park

Scary moments for residents of the Mitchell Brothers Mobile Home Park east of the city of South Haven overnight. Fire destroyed a recreational trailer anchored at the park located along County Road 388 in Geneva Township.

The fire was first reported to South Haven Area Emergency Services who rolled out fire teams around 9:45 last night, Thursday, August 9th. Upon arrival firefighters were confronted with a unit completely engulfed in flames.

Authorities say that the 30-foot long trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and the owner had just returned from a camping trip an hour before the fire was discovered and alarms were sounded.

South Haven Area Emergency Services Fire Chief Ronald Wise tells us no injuries were reported in the blaze, and the cause remains under investigation at this time.

In addition to the licensed RV section of the park where the fire occurred, Mitchell Brothers Mobile Home Park also provides affordable home sites for both single wide and modular mobile homes.
