Livery Microbrewery Launches American Craft Beer Week Celebration

Just a handful of days before the world beats a path past their front doorway on the way to the 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, Benton Harbor’s Livery Microbrewery is setting the stage for that big week with another big week of their own honoring American Craft Beer Week.

Every day this week Simon Rusk and his hearty crew are throwing open the doors to The Livery with a wide open invitation to stop in for a full week’s worth of celebrating as everyone in town also gears up for the Championship week one week later.

Here’s what you’ll find in The Livery’s lineup for this week of May 14th through the 20th:

Monday 5/14: Makers Market and Summer Moonlight Release

Shop a variety of handmade items from local craft vendors with a craft beer in hand.  Summer Moonlight, an easy-drinking lighter-style Summer Stout hits the nitro tap in all its creamy and cascading glory.

Tuesday 5/15: Mug Club Day Membership Giveaway. One lucky beer lover will win a LIFETIME Mug Club Membership. The rules are simple: stop in, buy a beer, drop you name and phone number in a mug – they’ll announce the winner at 8pm.

Wednesday 5/16: Beer Trivia with Head Brewer Simon Rusk. Join the fun from 7:30-7:45pm and answer a few questions about history, brewing, and all things BEER. The winning team receives a $25 gift card – The Livery’s regular Team Trivia will then follow.

Thursday 5/17: Community Pint Night benefiting Sarrett Nature Center and Venerable Dragon Release. From 5 until 8pm, $1 per pint sold will benefit Sarrett Nature Center. It’s also your chance to be the first to try the newest beer to join The Livery line-up; Venerable Dragon! This medium-bodied Double India Red Ale features Michigan grown Chinook from Hop Head Farms in Baroda which lend an assertive pine bitterness and aromas of pineapple and citrus that is balanced by a slightly sweet and malty finish. Cheers to the Dragon.

Friday 5/18: Firk Yeah, It’s Friday and Wanyama

The Livery’s 5:15 weekly Firkin Tapping features Holden’s Shorts: Ludicrous Speed Schwartzbier with salted pretzels, peanut butter, and cocoa nibs.

Wanyama is an energizing 5 piece band creating music that entertains the grooves of funk, vibes of reggae, and the elements of hip-hop. With soulful licks and lyrical flow, Wanyama uses live bass, drums, guitar, horns, synths and voice to cultivate their own experimental sound of conscious funk for your mind. 8:30 Doors/9pm Show – $7 advance/$10 at the door

Saturday 5/19: Toxic Trivia – 8pm. Everyone’s favorite dirty game returns featuring trivia about beer, alcohol, and other taboo subjects! Toxic Trivia is free to play and gift cards are awarded to the top 3 teams!

All week long at The Livery: A beer-inspired pizza special; Beery McBeerface!

Hand tossed spent grain dough covered in their famous house-made beer cheese sauce, Bridgman Meat Market bratwurst braised in Silver Queen Helles Lager, red onions sauteed in Harbor Shores Amber Ale, Love Pump-apenos (jalepenos soaked in Love Pump Imperial Stout), finished with a sprinkling of fresh thyme.

It’s a great kick-off week to the big fun of the 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship around the corner at Harbor Shores.
