Moersch Hospitality Group Takes Flight with Bridal Venue Plans at Tabor Hill

The team at Southwest Michigan’s largest entourage of wine, craft beer and spirits makers has hit the ground running here in the first days of the New Year, bearing not only a new brand moniker but plans to capitalize on the romance of the vineyard with new event destinations for bridal parties, corporate events and beyond.

Matt Moersch and his team welcomed a hearty band of invited guests who ventured into the cold Thursday night for an informal roll-out of exciting new plans for the newly named Moersch Hospitalty Group. The family enterprise that has been known for years as Entente Spirits is now Moersch Hospitality Group, home to Round Barn Winery, Brewery & Distillery…Round Barn Public House…Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant…and Free Run Cellars, all clustered in the Baroda-Buchanan region of mid-Berrien County.

As an inviting fire warmed the newly renamed Grand Mark dining room, anchor space to the Tabor Hill Restaurant, Matt and his General Manager, HR guy, and Private Events Director Nick LaFlex told the small cadre of friends on hand that they will be breaking ground as soon as possible on a new 100-by-40-foot Tabor Hill outdoor venue designed to make the vineyard a remarkable new destination event center targeted first and foremost to brides & grooms, but available to multi-faceted events into the future.

Once they reach the actual ground through all of the fresh snow we’ve piled up, the new glass-walled-and-windowed, tent with full flooring will launch construction complete with a new 800 square foot, lighted outdoor patio area, and a separate ceremony site just steps away right in the midst of the vineyard. A new private drive through the vineyard will lead guests to the new venue space nestled among the vines and also on tap are an air-conditioned bridal cabana for the bridal party to relax in and an executive washroom.

LaFlex says plans are to have the venue, capable of hosting more than 250 people inside, ready to host when doors officially open by the end of May.

Both Moersch and LaFlex shared a PowerPoint slide deck that also shows the old, smaller, original dining room dating back to the earliest days of the Tabor Hill Restaurant is being renamed the Vineyard Room and will be capable of hosting up to 50 seated guests or 60 guests in a cocktail party setting. The Grand Mark, with it’s soaring vaulted ceiling, large stone fireplace, and 180-degree vineyard views will be available for private events capable of hosting up to 80 seated guests or 100 guests in a cocktail setting.

Tabor Hill is located at 185 Mount Tabor Road near Buchanan.

Meanwhile, the Moersch Hospitality Group’s Free Run Cellars property, situated on the edge of the vineyard at 10062 Burgoyne Road in Berrien Springs which features gourmet epicurean food pairings from Chef Brad Thornburg with wine tastings of Free Run vintages will host smaller, more intimate weddings, parties and events for up to 46 guests either seated or cocktail party style in that beautiful, panoramic setting.

Nick LaFlex told the invited guests, “Our event spaces are the perfect setting for couples who share our passion for experiencing great wine and food in one of the most unique backdrops of Michigan. But we are not just about receptions… consider your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and even your post-wedding-day brunch!”

From wine pairing dinners to corporate meetings and private receptions for any occasion, Matt made it clear that the Moersch Hospitality Group is committed to adding to the reputation in Michigan’s Great Southwest of being a major wedding destination region where rental options are often times booked well into the future.
