New Pizza & Sub Shop on the Way

When the Scottdale neighborhood of Royalton Township lost its beloved Roma's Pizza...there were a lot of sad faces.  Well, folks...turn those frowns upside down and get ready to welcome East of Chicago Pizza Company.  East of Chicago Pizza is a franchise operation founded in 1991 that now has restaurants in at least five other states, heavily centered on Ohio.  The St. Joseph version will be the first in the entire state, and will take over the space that once house Roma's at 4031 S. M-139 in St. Joseph across from Pater's True Value Hardware.

East of Chicago anchors itself on a signature fresh pan pizza, but has a pretty broad menu that also includes subs, salads, sides and desserts.  In fact, you will find a dozen different styles of pizza on the East of Chicago menu along with a dozen different styles of subs, five salads, two styles of wings, nachos and five types of dessert offerings.

From authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza, to specialty pizzas like taco & Hawaiian offerings, it would appear that there's something for everyone in the family.  There are also bread sticks, cheese sticks, garlic breads, fold-overs, and a lot more.

There are six East of Chicago Pizza franchises in Indiana, one each in Kentucky, South Carolina and West Virginia...and nearly 70 operations peppered across the state of Ohio.

I don't know who the franchise owner in St. Joseph is yet...and I haven't been able to track down the timeline for remodeling of the M-139 store to get ready for opening, but I'll keep you posted as I learn more.  We know it's coming though, inasmuch as it's already on the location map at their corporate website and the new sign has already been erected into place.  Stay tuned for more!
