Animal Aid Open House

The St. Joseph Reindog Parade is rapidly approaching and those of us with furry friends in the family know that that means the Annual Animal Aid Open House is close at hand as well.  Vickie Florin and her friends are busy lining up all the plans for another big event at the Whitcomb Senior Living Community high atop the bluff in St. Joseph.  The party will once again take place in the hours leading up to the Parade through the central business district.  Showtime is Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 1pm until 4pm at the Whitcomb.

As has become tradition, $3-dollar tote bags will be available along with lots of toys for dogs and cats, a bake sale table, silent auction, pet memorial tree, and an Ugliest Christmas Sweater Contest for the humans bringing pets to the party.  Judging for that event will occur at 3:30pm.  The reigning community queens from Blossomtime will be "in the house" for the event along with animals eagerly looking for a forever home with those willing to adopt.

The Animal Aid crew will be offering their fabulous "Bone Appetite" cookbooks (as shown above) for just $15 for your Christmas giving list.  They invite you in for a visit, some spirited bidding, a few light refreshments, and then you can head off to the classic Reindog Parade through downtown.

Anyone wishing to donate baked goods can drop them off early Saturday morning at the Whitcomb.  If you have questions, you can reach Vickie at 428-2016.
