Stevensville Manufacturer Garners Tax Break

When Griffin Tool started back in 1988 there were just two employees in a space of less than 1,500 square feet in Stevensville.  Now, as they mark their 25th Anniversary in business their current expansion project alone is more than ten times the size of that first facility...and when it is complete the tooling shop will comprise nearly 40,000 square feet along Johnson Road in the village.

The Stevensville Village Council voted recently to authorize a 50-percent tax break for 12-years on nearly $1,000,000.00 in property for the long-time provider to the automotive industry as they have outgrown their building again.  The original two-man operation is now up to nearly 60 employees and their current expansion project could lead to as many as six more new jobs in the community.

Griffin Tool is a top quality trim die supplier that is ISO 9001:2000 certified.  The company is adding 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the existing 25,000 square feet already on site at 2951 Johnson Road.  The company has continued to exhibit significant growth through the years working largely with the auto industry, but also in industries engaged in lighting, power tools, farm equipment, small gas engines, recreational vehicles, office furniture, household goods and other industrial applications.

The firm has grown steadily over the years and now boasts clients in more than 20 states across the nation and they build for U.S. customers who ship routinely to Brazil, Mexico, Hungary, Korea, and China.

Their steady investment in new machinery has allowed them to enhance cost containment while increasing flexibility in meeting customer needs regardless of the industry.  Griffin Tool employs an innovative design staff with experienced toolmakers, project managers, and sales staff members who understand that customer service is the key to success.
