Whirlpool Now Supplies Major Homebuilder

Thanks to a major new supplier agreement signed this fall, the full Whirlpool Corporation portfolio of brand name appliances will be available nationwide to customers of the largest privately-held homebuilder in the United States.

Whirlpool and David Weekley Homes signed the deal this month giving access to the builder's homeowners seeking to furnish their new homes with the best appliances on the market.  David Weekley Homes is based in Houston, Texas and is a provider of new home construction for first-time buyers, move-up buyers and luxury homes in 17 cities throughout the Midwest, Southwest and Southeastern United States.

Bob Bergeth is general manager of Whirlpool Builder Sales, and he says, "As two companies that strive to provide homeowners with design, choice and service, we're excited that David Weekley Homes customers will now have the array of kitchen suites and laundry choices that only the Whirlpool Corporation can provide through our Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and Jenn-Air brands."  He also characterizes the agreement as, "A great cultural and business fit, and we're looking forward to the growth that comes from working with David Weekley Homes as the homebuilding recovery continues to gain ground."

On a national scale, the contractor ranks as the 17th-largest homebuilder in the U.S. having built nearly 2,500 homes last year alone.  Whirlpool is the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, headquartered right here in Michigan's Great Southwest.
