Take Your Dog to Lunch!

Dog lovers can really make a day of it this coming Saturday when Save A Stray hosts a big league Bark for Lunch fundraiser preceding the 15th Annual Reindog Parade through the central business district of downtown St. Joseph.

Organizers have cobbled together an outstanding day of festivities for your four-legged friends running from noon until 3:30pm prior to the Reindog Parade.  The Silver Beach Hotel plays host to the Bark for Lunch affair featuring Texas Corral's Chili or Black Bean Soup and a roll topped with their signature cinnamon butter and a hot or cold beverage for you...and a full-on Doggie Treat Bar for your canine friends.  Cost is just $5 for Bark for Lunch.  But there's more!  You can name your own price as you bid on an array of Silent Auction items in time for your holiday shopping.  You will find a Mason Jar Raffle Area where you can pick your favorite prize by "voting" with your tickets at $1 each or 6 for $5.00 and hope for the luck of the draw.  A 50/50 Raffle will be split with a lucky winner who could win $500 if all 200 tickets get sold.  Tickets there are $5 each.  In the general raffle there are four key items:
  • 1st Prize -- A 16GB Apple i-Pad...
  • 2nd Prize -- A Duraflame Electric Stove with Illusion Fireplace
  • 3rd Prize -- A Texas Corral Gift Basket which also includes $50 TC Bucks
  • 4th Prize -- A Weber G0-Anywhere Grill

Those general raffle tickets are also $5-each.  You do not have to be present to win.

At this event you can also meet some wonderful foster dogs and cats ready for the holidays hoping for a home for Christmas.

Noted Save A Stray photographer Bob Cox will snap a photo of your dog with Santa for $5, making a cherished moment or Christmas card insert.  Acclaimed local artist Midnite Remisoski from The Box Factory for the Arts will offer 10-to-15-minute pencil sketches for your pet for the nominal fee of just $10.00.

It all happens just ahead of the Reindog Parade through downtown St. Joseph, so check it out at The Silver Beach Hotel beginning at noon.
