SW Medical Team Enhanced

Families in Michigan's Great Southwest in search of a Pediatrician and/or family medicine nurse practitioner have a couple of new choices.  Southwestern Michigan Medical Clinic in Stevensville has welcomed new staff members this week and new patients are being accepted.

New to the clinic family are Dr. Desire M. Hurst, Pediatrician and Wendy Hays, Family Nurse Practitioner.  Dr. Hurst earned her medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California.  She went on to complete her pediatric residency at the University of Wisconsin.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  During medical school, she participated in the Global Health Track program which promotes a world view of pediatric care and advocacy with a deeper awareness of culture, language, and society.  She was born in Spokane, Washington and grew up and attended school here in SW Michigan.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Andrews University and is now accepting patients at the Stevensville practice.  In the photo above she is on the left.

Ms. Hays has served as a registered nurse with Lakeland HealthCare for the past 13 years where she cared for oncology and surgery patients of all ages.  She is dedicated to providing safe, high-quality care that involves patient education, symptom management, and thinking critically to determine the best course of treatment.  Wendy earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner Program, from Goshen College in Indiana.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Indiana-Wesleyan Universithy where she graduated summa cum laude.  She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is now seeing patients in the Walk-In Clinic at the Stevensville office.  In the photo above she is on the right.
