Icy Pier Shot Gets National Coverage

Another dramatic photo of St. Joseph's iconic North Pier is garnering nationwide attention thanks to the Weather Channel. The photo depicted here, shot by photographer Tom Gill, is posted on the Weather Channel's Facebook page today in order to draw attention to a new meteorological scale regarding ice storms on their website.

Thanks to Kelly Anderson Freye for bringing the situation to my attention so that I could share it with you.  The photo of the outer light on the North Pier encased in wind-whipped ice is employed to point to a new scale to measure the impact of ice-storms according to folks at the Weather Channel.  The story of that scale can be found here for those interested:
