Derby Party Friday

Visitors to downtown St. Joseph this Friday evening will be treated to a full-on Countdown to the Kentucky Derby. It's all a part of the monthly celebration of It's Finally Friday. Each month, the final Friday of the month gets the party treatment in some form or another and this week will mark the arrival of the Derby Party in honor of the 2014 Kentucky Derby set to take place on Saturday, May 3rd.

You'll get a chance to sharpen your racing skills while enjoying many of the traditions of the Derby. During It's Finally Friday celebrations a contingent of downtown merchants stay open later, offer sales opportunities, free entertainment and more.

This Friday, April 25th, guests in the central business district will enjoy a new kind of race where store certificates and offerings are the prizes. Among the Derby Party participating locations you will find these merchants downtown:

  • Bound for Freedom
  • The Candlestick Maker
  • Eve
  • FuzzyButz
  • G&M Variety
  • HarborTown Interiors
  • Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop
  • Krasl Art Center
  • Purely Michigan
