New Buffalo 3.0

You can be among the first to see Third Coast Surf Shop's latest location. Ryan Gerard tells me they've dubbed the site "New Buffalo 3.0." That's because he and his crew have moved locations three times now to accommodate their rapid growth over the years.

On Saturday, May 17th, Third Coast Surf Shop will conduct special Grand Opening Events to celebrate their newest location at 110 N. Whittaker Street in New Buffalo. Located in New Buffalo's central business district, the new site is just three blocks from the waters of Lake Michigan.

This move increases the available space and allows for an expanded selection of surf gear and beach wear, including clothing, sandals, sunglasses, surfboards, skateboards, stand-up paddleboards, and accessories.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the course of the day on the 17th, and live music will accompany a weekend-long sale there.

Third Coast Surf Shop has been a staple of the New Buffalo retail scene dating back to May of 2005. The store's move to this prime Whittaker Street space follows nine years of rapid growth, including the addition of a new flagship headquarters at 212 State Street in downtown St. Joseph, and four rental sites in Michigan's Great Southwest including the Galien River on Red Arrow Highway in New Buffalo, at New Buffalo City Beach, on the Paw Paw River at Graham Avenue in Benton Harbor, and at Jean Klock Beach in Benton Harbor.

Third Coast Surf Shop owner Ryan Gerard says the new store in New Buffalo will provide greater convenience for both long-time and new customers, as it is located in the city's busy shopping district and within a five-minute walk to the beach. In addition to the stores in New Buffalo and St. Joe, Third Coast Surf Shop also offers kids' beach camps and surfboard & paddleboard rentals and lessons across the region which is a destination recognized as a top place to learn to surf according to Outside magazine.
