New Clubhouse Christened

Typically speaking, one would not be too pleased with a big slice at the country club. However, when the slice in question is dealt by a giant pair of scissors rather than a three iron, that typically means great progress. Such was the case Thursday evening when officials from the Point O'Woods Golf & Country Club took time out to cut the ribbon on the opening of their new Clubhouse and recently remodeled Pro Shop.

Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce facilitated the celebration featuring club officials, local dignitaries, members of the Chamber Board and Chamber Ambassadors. The ceremony took place with the beautiful backdrop of the Point O'Woods course and the new 9,500 square foot Clubhouse.

With the recent completion of construction, Point O'Woods members are enjoying a new dining room, bar, outdoor patio, new locker rooms for both men and women, and additional parking. Renovations were actually completed last summer, but the ribbon cutting was reserved for the launch of the new golf season. A variety of recreational amenities that include the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones course, swimming & diving pool with poolside cabana and concession, tennis courts and the new clubhouse all provide family-friendly venues throughout.

Members can relax with a refreshing beverage or enjoy culinary delights crafted by Executive Chef Mike Bredice on the large outdoor deck off the clubhouse bar while scanning the majestic views sweeping across the 18th green and fairway. A large event tent on the property is now available and perfect for hosting family gatherings, business functions, weddings and parties of any nature.

Mark Matthews from the Point says, "We're very proud to showcase our new Clubhouse and amenities. Our members have worked very hard over the last two years to provide the financial support to modernize our facilities and I want to personally thank our past president Barry Conybeare who together with our Strategic Planning Committee had the vision and tenacity to get this project done and provide the foundation for future success."

Matthews continued, "We're also excited to host the 2019 Western Amateur as it returns to the Point O'Woods Golf & Country Club. Golfing legends from Ben Crenshaw to Tiger Woods have played our course. We're looking forward to the next generation of the world's top amateur golfers returning to the Point O'Woods."

At the Point, there's a program for everyone; regular, junior, corporate, family and dining memberships are available. Additional information can be found by clicking this link:
