Winter Delights 9-Point-O Headed to LMC Mendel Center

There are a myriad of ways to discover the creations peppered along the Southwest Michigan Makers Trail. You can load into the car with family, friends or colleagues and make a host of stops along the way. You can hire one of the livery services that will take your group from stop to stop along the way. Or, you make plans today for that magical day when the makers all come to you in a night of winter delights.

For a ninth year, The Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College will warm up your winter evening with wines, meads, and ciders during the annual Winter Delights event next month. The area’s premier winter wine tasting event is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 5 to 9pm in The Mendel Center Grand Upton Hall.

Winter Delights will feature tastings from throughout southwestern Michigan as well as from other regions in the state. Adding to the sensory delights will be a collection of local dining establishments providing culinary treats for festival attendees to savor while enjoying a backdrop of musical entertainment from The Ed Bagatini Trio. New this year will be select wine and food pairings available at a number of booths.

Tickets for Winter Delights are available through The Mendel Center box office at (269) 927-8700, option 1, weekdays from 10am to 6pm, as well as online at www.TheMendelCenter.com. Advance tickets are $35. Day of the event tickets will be $40.

Admission at this 21 and older event includes a festival glass, 10 wine tastings, $10 of food, and an evening of entertainment. Designated driver tickets are available for $20 and include a festival glass, 2 non-alcoholic drinks, $10 food, and an evening of entertainment. Winter Delights is sponsored by the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council, Papa Vino’s Italian Kitchen, and the Wine and Viticulture Technology Program at Lake Michigan College.

The Mendel Center is located on the Lake Michigan College campus at 2755 E. Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor. The Mendel Center is one mile east of I-94 (Exit 30) and one mile west of the US 31 Bypass (exit 24). The GPS mapping address is 1100 Yore Avenue, Benton Harbor, Michigan.
