Xpress Printing to Change Hands and Relocate Soon

For decades the prevailing image of a print shop was one of paper flying everywhere, the pungent aroma of fresh ink wafting through the door as soon as you entered, and a place that needed lots of lead time to get your project completed. Many actually posted a cartoon on the wall of a small guy laughing hysterically with the caption, “You want it WHEN!?” Then, along came a guy named Wally Buesing. Thirty seven years ago he launched the forerunner to Xpress Printing, vowing to deliver a considerably speedier service without compromising on quality. Now, he’s handing over the reins.

Wally has issued an e-mail message to his regular clientele saying, “The time has come. I am leaving Xpress Printing at the end of January. After 37 happy and productive years I have sold my business.”

Buesing was a pioneer in the quick-service printing realm and crafted a substantial following among local businesses, organizations and individuals who showed up on his doorstep for everything from a box full of business cards to full-scale magazine quality publications. But now, he’s stepping aside to make way for somebody who has worked side by side with him for the past 16 years herself, and she will relocate the business to new quarters.

On February 1st Renee Demske, the Xpress Printing Office Manager and Bookkeeper for the past 16 years, will be the new Owner and President of Xpress Printing. Wally tells his customer base, “As you probably know, Renee has been a valued employee at Xpress for 16 years and is very capable of successfully handling Xpress Printing’s day to day workload. The business will continue to produce the same high-quality products and competitive pricing along with our exceptional customer service.”

According to Buesing, Renee will move the business of Xpress Printing to Suite A at 4086 Red Arrow Highway in St. Joseph. That’s on the corner of Glenlord Road and Red Arrow Highway, across the street from Coach’s Restaurant and the Walgreens Pharmacy.

Buesing is expressing sincere appreciation and gratitude for the excellent and loyal support of Xpress customers over the years.

Buesing first established his business on June 1st of 1980, originally as WEB Business Forms. His primary business at that time was business forms and advertising specialties. Five years later he purchased pressroom equipment and launched production with his in-house printing department. That necessitated a name change to WEB Printing and Marketing Concepts, Inc.

Having acquired a significant reputation within the community as a high quality, small commercial printer. Buesing moved his production facility and team to their current address of 2946 Division Street on March 4th of 1996. The name was changed to Xpress Printing, and they added services such as walk-in copying, high speed production, full color printing, and full in-house computer graphics and typesetting. The rest is history as Xpress Printing became a leader in local circles on multiple fronts. That’s the legacy that Renee had a hand in building and will now take ownership of to advance the business to the next level.
