Ever since the Detroit Free Press declared the City of St. Joseph to be “Michigan’s Most Romantic City,” the city has capitalized on that image and shared it widely. The city is an increasingly popular destination wedding center for hundreds of couples from across the nation. Who, however, could have predicted that the city would also find its way to the top of the list of the city where women purchased more adult toys per capita than any place in the nation except for Zanesville, Ohio.

Those, according to Pure Romance are, the Top Five Sexiest Cities by Sales to Female Populations in America. The Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo metro area ranks 18th on the list, down a notch from 17th a year ago.
Overall, Philadelphia has been declared the “Sexiest U.S. City,” moving up from a second place finish in 2015, displacing Washington D.C. which had held the title for two years running, but slipped to third behind Philadelphia and runner-up Detroit. Minneapolis and New York City round out the top five according to the company.
Pure Romance officials determine the 20 Sexiest Cities by scoring on-line product sales, along with net regional sales through active Consultants around the country.
