The Berrien County Parks Department is looking for some lifeguards for Silver Beach. It’s released the following:

Looking for a summer job? Join the team that works in one of the most beautiful places in Southwest Michigan, all while making a positive impact on the health and safety of visitors. Silver Beach is actively recruiting Lifeguards to round out the 2022 Summer Lifeguard Team. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age and have a current certificate for Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equivalent and CPR for Adult, Infant and Child.

Lifeguards are employed primarily for the protection of swimmers and control of beach activities at Silver Beach County Park. The Lifeguard Team will discourage unsafe beach and water activities, educate visitors about water safety, provide necessary rescue and emergency care for accident victims, and perform first aid. The Team participates in regular training and employee improvement throughout the season.

“Although the beach season has started, and Lifeguards have been on duty, we continue to recruit guards. New Lifeguards will receive orientation and onsite training upon hiring.”, says Jill Adams, Berrien County Parks Department Director.
