At a time when the heated rhetoric of the mid-term election cycle is finally winding down to some degree and with Thanksgiving literally two weeks away, the men and women of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office were recipients today of a special delivery “care package” from an organization calling itself “Operation Gratitude.”

Every member of the Sheriff’s Office was included in the special thanks to the first responder community from the unique operation this morning, and some posed for the photo accompanying this story on Moody on the Market.

The “care packages” are filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, as well as personal letters of support written by grateful Americans. The items in the packages were sent to Operation Gratitude by donors from every state in the nation. Each care package was lovingly assembled by hundreds of volunteers at an Operation Gratitude facility in Chatsworth, California with the specific intent to say “Thank You” to a First Responder.

Sheriff Paul Bailey says he and his staff are extremely grateful for the continued support of all First Responders by members of the community and all volunteer organizations.
