Berrien County To Hold Community Recycling Event This Month

The next Berrien County Community Recycling Event will be this month. The Berrien County Parks Department says the event will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Silver Beach County Park. Berrien County residents will be able to drop off hard foam, electronics, and household chemicals and batteries so they can be safely disposed. Among the electronics they’ll take will be computer towers, monitors, printers, televisions, phones, stereo equipment, appliances, power tools, and items that run on batteries. There will be a fee of $10 per computer monitor and $20 per television. There will be a $10 fee for freon appliances like air conditioners or refrigerators. They’ll also take yard and garden chemicals, used oil, gasoline, cleaners, pills, batteries, and light bulbs. Latex paint will not be accepted. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be all drive-through so people can stay in their cars. You can find out more right here.
