Berrien Undersheriff Seeks Public Help In Finding Missing Niles Township Man

Berrien County Undersheriff Chuck Heit has issued an area-wide alert for a missing Niles Township man not seen since early last Sunday morning. He is asking for the public’s help in finding the man.

Heit says that 47 year old Garen Patrick Collins, shown in the photo accompanying this story on Moody on the Market, went missing sometime after 6:30am Sunday morning, June 9th, 2019 from the Riverfront Park Campground in Niles Township where he was living.

The Berrien County Sheriff’ Office, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, and Niles Township Fire Department are all taking part in the search after Heit’s office received a call from the campground along the Dowagiac River in Niles Township.

Garen Patrick Collins is described by authorities in the case as a white man who is 47 years of age from 1701 Pucker Street in Niles Township. He is reported as 6’2”, 265 pounds, short brown hair and brown eyes with a goatee.

Collins’ vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Pucker Street Dam. An extensive search is currently underway by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Niles Township Fire Department.
