Bridgman Chamber Chief Departing for New Role in Wisconsin

After more than four years at the helm, Calli Berg is departing her role as Executive Director of the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance — or CGA for short — to take on a new role in Wisconsin.

Berg dispatched a special announcement letter today to her membership thanking them for their support over the years as she prepares to return to her Milwaukee area roots. Her resignation takes effect June 10th as she heads to an economic development position for the City of Franklin, Wisconsin in Milwaukee County. Franklin is about 16 miles southwest of Milwaukee.

In the letter jointly sent by Berg and the Chamber’s Board of Directors, she says, “It has been a pleasure and an honor to have served this organization over the last four-plus years and I will truly miss the greater Bridgman Community.”

Berg goes on to say that due to the forthcoming change, “The CGA board announces that they have accepted a generous offer from Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce to assist the CGA during this transition with administration and member support for a 90-day period effective immediately. The email, telephone, and mailing address will remain the same and nothing changes with your membership during this time; however, you may see some new names associated with CGA communications – Chris Heugel, Patricia Muellen, and Sarah Spoonholtz.”

Berg took over the reins of the Bridgman Chamber after consulting them through her own consultancy, BDM Services, which she has operated since 2008. Earlier in her career Calli was Deputy Director of Berrien County Economic Development for more than 6 and a half years, Director of the Coloma-Watervliet Area Economic Development Corporation for just under 3 years, and a Business Development Manager for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation for 2 and a half years. Additionally, she has served as a member of the Education Committee of the Michigan Economic Developers Association for 18 years.

In signaling her departure from the Bridgman community, Berg tells members, “I am confident that I am leaving the CGA in strong and capable hands and that there are many good things on the horizon for the Greater Bridgman business community.”

She concludes, “On behalf of the CGA Board, thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for future announcements as the CGA works to bring a new director to  the organization. I wish you all the best and invite you to look me up if you are ever in Southeast Wisconsin.”

Calli also served on the selection committee for this spring’s inaugural Moody on the Market 40 Under 40 campaign.
