Coloma Public Library Expands Their Hours

Beginning Monday January 24th, the Coloma Public Library will be extending their service hours. Monday through Thursday, the library will be open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. “The decision to expand our hours was based on patron feedback and usage patterns. We frequently noted patrons waiting in the early hours for access, and we wanted later evening hours for those who cannot make it during the day,” says library Director Mary Harrison.

Through the winter, the Coloma Public Library offers many programs to the community members of Coloma. Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m, bring your toddlers and preschoolers to Story Time for an interactive activity. These activities range from listening to a story, participating in music and movement, or making crafts. On Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., find the curbside cart in the lobby and snag a Grab-and-Go Craft Kit. Complete the craft in the Children’s Department, or feel free to take it home.

The library also offers Paws For Reading, a fifteen minute reading session that takes place on Thursdays between 4:30pm – 5:30pm, with certified therapy dogs Margaret and Pailey. Available for kindergarten age and up, make sure you register for this event in advance. Adults can also join the Book Club that meets twice monthly, and Teen Book Boxes are available for teens, ages 12 – 18.
