Community Pint Night for 100 Women Strong

When you elect to conduct the annual meeting for your non-profit organization on a global holiday like St. Patrick's Day you either run the very strong risk that nobody wants to go…or you turn the event into a Community Pint Night and throw open the doors to everyone. If you know the make up of the 100 Women Strong group in Berrien County, you pretty well know what they have elected to do.

Board Chair Sarah Spoonholtz and her crew are throwing open the doors to the 100 Woman Strong 2016 Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 17th — St. Patrick's Day — for a Community Pint Night at The Livery Microbrewery in the Benton Harbor Arts District. From 5pm until 8pm that night you can enjoy a few spectacular craft brews from the talented team of The Livery and hear an update on the remarkable work of the non-profit organization dedicated to helping women maintain self-sufficiency in times of critical need.

The Annual Meeting is open to the general public at 190 Fifth Street in Benton Harbor, and the cost for the event is just $10 at the door including light snacks and a cash bar will be available, wherein 50-cents from the price of every pint sold will go to the fundraising efforts of 100 Women Strong. Interested friends can learn about ways to volunteer with the organization while you enjoy your micro-brews.

100 Women Strong is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been providing emergency funds for Berrien County women for more than 15-years. Women who benefit from the program are not eligible for other community resources. They are either working or attending school and can receive a one-time grant of up to $500 to pay for emergency car repairs, health, utility or other unexpected bills.

100 Women Strong's intent is to help women stay self-sufficient and keep them from quitting work or school because no emergency funds were otherwise available to them in their time of need.
