Cornerstone Chamber Launches Award Nomination Process Monday

Okay business sleuths, what do Watermark Brewing Company, Combined Insurance Agencies, Lauren Kniebes from Lazy Ballerina Winery, Lakeland Health, Kruggel Lawton CPAs, and Nancy McDonnall all have in common? Each came away from the 2018 Business Recognition Event last February with some pretty nice hardware as a result of the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce 2018 Awards ceremonies.

Who do you think should be their successors as winners of the awards each of them received last winter? Starting October 1st you can begin the nominating process for the 2019 Chamber Awards to help determine who will stand at the podium beaming with pride next February.

To refresh your memory, Watermark Brewing won the Small Business of the Year Award…the Combined Insurance Agencies were honored with the Excellence in Customer Service Award…Lauren Kniebes at Lazy Ballerina was selected for the Young Business Leader of the Year Award, Lakeland Health earned the Economic Impact of the Year Award…Kruggel Lawton picked up the Pat Moody Award, and Nancy McDonnall won the respect of her peers as the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year Award winner.

When the nomination line opens next Monday, October 1st, you can make nominations from among the ranks of the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce membership up until the close of tallies on Friday, November 9th after which the Awards Committee will sort through the nominations and make the decisions for the new year.

The awards will then be presented in February at the 2019 Business Recognition Event.

The 2019 Chamber Awards that can be nominated for include:

Business Focused:

  • Economic Impact Award
  • Small Business of the Year Award
  • Customer Service Award
  • Green Business of the Year Award

Individual Focused:

  • Ambassador of the Year Award
  • The Young Business Leader of the Year Award

Business or Individual Focused:

  • The Pat Moody Award – Presented by the 2018 Winner Kruggel Lawton CPA

Awards are focused on being meaningful and relevant to the Cornerstone Chamber and the community.  Nominations can be submitted from anyone, however, nominees must be members in good standing with the Chamber of Commerce in order to be eligible for recognition, and no self-nominations will be accepted.

Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce and Cornerstone Alliance will host The Business Recognition Breakfast at the Grand Upton Hall located in the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center on Thursday, February 14th 2019 from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.
