Endless Rains Lead to Upcoming Territorial Road Detour Near Millburg

The sometimes torrential and seemingly endless storm systems of the past couple of months across the region will result in a heavily traveled route being detoured for roughly two to three weeks according to the Berrien County Road Department.

Traffic Safety Supervisor Michael Juengling announced this morning that beginning next Monday, November 27th, Territorial Road will be completely shutdown to traffice between North Branch Road and Millburg Drive for approximately two to three weeks so road crews can repair side slop erosion “caused by the massive amounts of rain the area has received over the past couple of months.”

Due to the closure of Territorial between those two points, traffic will be detoured and re-routed onto North Branch Road to Park Road for those who are headed eastbound, and onto Park Road to North Brand Road for those traveling westbound through that area.

Project Engineer Kevin Stack will have crews in place immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in hopes of getting the work completed and the road re-opened in a timely manner for those who rely on Territorial as a regular commute or for business vehicles typically traversing the route for deliveries, service calls and other issues of commerce in Berrien County.
