Fans of quality construction are being invited to view a showcase of some of the finest craftsmanship by the area's most prestigious builders as the Home Builders Association of Southwestern Michigan preps for the roll out of the 19th Annual Parade of Homes in our region.
Ten homes, six of which are brand new and four of which are remodeling jobs, will comprise this year's Parade kicking off a week from tomorrow on Friday, May 13th.
The 2016 Parade of Homes gives the general public the opportunity to see that newest homes in Michigan’s Great Southwest, all built by proud members of the Southwestern Michigan Home Builders Association. Those attending the showcase will be welcomed into these fine homes by some of the area’s most renowned builders. The parade of Homes allows the builder to showcase their integrity, quality and craftsmanship. Among the association's goals, you will find the aim to align consumers with qualified professional tradesmen and women while exposing the new industry trends, materials, and designs. When you visit all of the unique entries in this year’s parade you will get a great cross section of the builder's skills and abilities.
Among the things visitors to the Parade of Homes will find are a custom home fused with a craftsman style with modern clean lines…a 50-foot gas fireplace with a rustic log mantel…a home with 2 master suites…a multi level home with an elevator…custom built features for a busy family…and two 45-foot cargo shipping containers constructed into a home. Among the remodels, you will find restoration of an historical home…places with spacious kitchens, open floor plans and a stunning cottage transformed from 1,400 Sq Ft into a 2,000 Sq Ft home.
Two of the homes are in South Haven, three are in St. Joseph, and one each can be found in the communities of Coloma, Benton Harbor, Stevensville, Sister Lakes and Lakeside.
The Parade of Homes kicks off on Friday May 13th, at 5:00pm and runs through May 22nd. Hours of operation are Friday’s from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday from noon – 8:00pm and Sunday from noon – 6:00pm. Tickets are $7.00 for Adults and $5.00 for children ages 4 – 12. Tickets can be purchased at Big C Lumber, Martins Super Markets, The Home Builders Association of Southwestern Michigan, Sawyer Home & Garden Center, Jimmy’s Liquors in Sister Lakes, and any of the homes on tour during the Parade of Homes. In the spirit of community several local non-profit organizations are staffing the Parade of Homes. These Volunteers represent non-profit organizations that are dedicated to the community and provide services to the region. The association donates to non-profit service organizations. So by supporting the event this year, you are supporting other organizations as well.
