Hometown Deli to Close Up Shop

A series of equipment failures and rising costs of doing business are combining to sound the death knell for the popular Hometown Deli in downtown Baroda. The two ladies who own the shop say they'll be around for one more month and then it's over.

Audra Johnson and Stacey Stubblefield have owned and operated the colorful Hometown Deli & Catering business for the past eight years in the community's central business district, but recent circumstances have proven virtually insurmountable and they've elected to throw in the towel.

In a direct letter to regular fans and customers e-mailed seconds before 6am this morning, the two say it was anything but easy to make the decision, but Thursday, March 31, 2016 will be the final day in business at 8972 First Street in downtown Baroda.

To our valued customers:

It is with great sadness to announce that Thursday, March 31, 2016, we will be closing permanently.

We have enjoyed getting to know each and everyone. The past 8 years of serving you has been an honor. The decision to close was not an easy one to make. Circumstances in our lives have changed, and we feel now is the time to redirect our focus.

As many of you know, we have had a series of equipment failures which led to losses that we have never recouped. We have tried to continue to bring you the quality of food and service you deserve without changing our products or raising our prices.  Unfortunately, with the cost of food and utilities rising, we cannot go forward without doing those things.

We would like to thank you and say that we will miss seeing your faces everyday. We would also like to thank you for going on this journey with us. It has been humbling and a pleasure to be part of your lives. You have touched us in a way we cannot express.

May your future bring many blessings!

Audra Johnson and Stacey Stubblefield
