Best advice you ever got?
You’ve worked too hard to give up now.
Who inspires you most?
My mother and my students at Buchanan High School
That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
On top of owning two Subway Sandwich Shops, I am also the Assistant Band Director at Buchanan Middle and High School where I get to share my passion for music and help students in the district create amazing music!
What do you love to do in your downtime?
I love to spend time with friends, perform in band concerts with local ensembles, travel and eat at new (or new-to-me) restaurants.
What book are you reading now?
The Escape Room by Megan Goldin
Volunteer activity you love the most.
My most recent volunteer activity I enjoyed wholeheartedly was being an Elf in the Dunk Tank at Coloma’s Christmas in July in 2021. I loved watching the kids enjoy dunking one of their local business owners all while getting gifts from the local fire departments mascot
What motivates you to give back to your community?
I grew up in Watervliet/Coloma and consider the entire community home. I know a lot of people at minimum by their face (or in Subway terms, their sandwich order lol!) and have had an overwhelming amount of support from my community. I love sharing my passions with the community and the members within. I wouldn’t have my stores without the community support so I give back to continue the support.
What Superpower would you most love to have? (for example, the ability to fly or to be invisible, or incredible strength, etc)
I’d wish to have the power to heal, and the power to fly. I’d like the power to heal to cure people’s illnesses when there time hasn’t come to an end yet and they have unfinished business. I’d also like the power to fly to take my mother to places she wishes to visit faster and sightsee quickly along the way.
What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone?
I’d like to leave behind the legacy of a well-run business with a supportive crew, as well as a well-rounded community member.
What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
The honor of being named one of the 40 under 40 means my hard work has been recognized, and I am so thankful for the recognition as well as the chance at the award when I feel my work within the community has just begun.
