When Lakeshore Chamber members gather next month for the organization’s annual meeting, the keynote speaker should be able to give them a unique peek behind the curtain at operations behind one of Michigan’s largest and most successful retailers — Meijer.

Shawn Buckner is Regional Vice President of Operations for the Northern Region at Meijer, Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids. He has been tapped by the Lakeshore Chamber to address their upcoming 2019 Annual Meeting slated for Monday, February 4, 2019 at Tosi’s Restaurant on Ridge Road in Stevensville.

Buckner brings a 25 year career in retail to the podium, including nearly 20 at Meijer, where he is responsible for the region that stretches along the Lake Michigan shoreline from Stevensville to Sault Ste. Marie, including Meijer’s home market of Grand Rapids. He began his Meijer career in June of 2000.

The retail professional will address the current state of business for the mega-retailer, their vision for the future and the unique community partnerships they have crafted in every market with a focus on the partnerships created right here at home through the Stevensville Meijer first opened in 2011.
