The team at Kruggel Lawton with offices in St. Joseph and beyond has upped their game with a newly minted Certified Valuation Analyst now in the mix.

The Certified Public Accounting and business advisory firm tells us that Manager Julie Eslinger, CPA, has successfully completed requirements to earn the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. The CVA is the premier accreditation for CPAs who provide business valuation and litigation consulting services.

To become accredited by NACVA, candidates are required to successfully complete an intensive training and testing process. An initial requirement to becoming a CVA is that the applicant be a licensed certified public accountant. To maintain the CVA designation, individuals must have a minimum number of hours of continuing professional education (CPE) each year and conduct him or herself within the ethical mandates established by the profession.

Douglas Osthimer is a partner at Kruggel Lawton and also head of the firm’s valuation practice. He says, “Our clients often seek business valuation services in conjunction with the purchase or sale of a business, succession planning, buy/sell agreements, charitable contributions, or estate and gift taxes.” He adds, “In the litigation arena, valuations are often necessary in situations where there has been business disruption, divorce, or partner disputes. We’re proud to have another CPA on staff who is uniquely qualified to handle these important matters for clients.”
