Foodies who have been wishing for several years now in the region for a culinary feature that they sincerely missed will feel like it's Christmas time. Well…okay…it is Christmas time and your friends at the LakeHouse in St. Joseph have a gift you can already unwrap and enjoy.
Being a restaurateur in Michigan's Great Southwest, Amy Bleich Heugel gets an earful from people all the time about what they like, what they don't like, what they'd like to see, and even what they miss from time to time. If there's one thing she's heard that certainly resonated with her, it was the overwhelming desire to see the famous Pasta Bar of days gone by returned.
When her LakeHouse Restaurant & Bar at the corner of Hilltop Road and Lakeshore Drive in St. Joseph was still the Mansion Grille a number of years ago, one of the most popular offerings in the house was Mansion Grille's legendary Pasta Bar. While there were several other establishments in that building between then and Amy's acquisition and creation of the LakeHouse, fans of the Pasta Bar never forgot it…and apparently never stopped clamoring for its return.
So, after two-and-a-half years of the steady drumbeat of inquiries, the LakeHouse has finally seen the light and is re-introducing the community to the LakeHouse Pasta Bar. As they say in show business, "back by popular demand," and starting today, and every Wednesday for lunch and dinner, the LakeHouse team will create several pasta dishes right before you for just $10 at lunch (which includes a drink) and $15 at dinner (which includes salad and bread).
Pasta of several types as well as sauces and toppings will be prepared on the spot for your dining enjoyment. The LakeHouse Restaurant and Bar are located at 3029 Lakeshore Drive in St. Joseph. They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 11am until 9pm, Fridays from 11am until 10pm and Saturdays from 4pm until 10pm. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
