Lifelong Educator Turned Entrepreneur Launches Consultancy in Berrien Springs

In order to achieve success in life, all of the pieces have to fall into place. For entrepreneur Rita Seay, she wants to be a key piece in your personal life picture, and that’s why she has opened Success Consulting & Coaching in Oronoko Charter Township. Today, she hopes you’ll celebrate with her as she hosts a formal ribbon cutting ceremony with her friends from the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance.

Seay has crafted a new office at the Apple Valley Berrien Business Suites on U.S. 31 in Berrien Springs, and will cut the ribbon in ceremonies at 4pm today, Thursday, March 14th, 2019.

Seay, a lifelong educator and administrator, became certified as an ACE Master Trainer under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Anda, co-principal researcher of the seminal Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study. Success Consulting & Coaching was formed to support school organizations in becoming trauma sensitive. Seay works with individuals to help them recognize their social-emotional imbalance and achieve a state of balance so they can establish, pursue and achieve their personal goals.

Seay tells us, “Success Consulting & Coaching is the culmination of a lifetime of work helping students and schools,” and adds, “I’m excited about the opportunity to continue coaching and mentoring individuals in pursuit of their goals. I have benefited greatly from the encouragement and mentoring by Margaret Adams of the Women’s Business Center. The Women’s Business Center provides a variety of services to support the successful launch of a new business and I could not have done this without them.”

Seay’s coaching and consulting techniques are enhanced by her training as an intervention specialist and as a SafeTALK Suicide Alertness helper. She has also completed training in Youth Mental Health First Aid USA through the National Council for Behavioral Health. In March 2018, after becoming certified as a Michigan ACE Master Trainer, Seay began presenting Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences seminars in educational settings in Southwest Michigan. These presentations are conducted at no cost to organizations that desire to understand the impact adverse experiences have on children.

As Manager of the Women’s Business Center, Margaret Adams says, “Rita began working with the WBC in April of 2013.” She notes, “Her business models have evolved over the years, and today she is opening a consulting and coaching business. I am excited to see Rita’s dream of owning and operating a business become a reality.”

Seay’s ultimate desire is to assist educational organizations become trauma sensitive, as well as guide individuals to recognize their worth and to assist them in achieving their full potential. Seay will be available by appointment and can be reached at (269) 362-2965.
