For years, Travis Hanko walked through the doors of Mid-County Lawn & Garden as a loyal customer, relying on the dealership to help keep his own lawn care business running. Today, he’s walking through those same doors as its new owner.
Formerly known as Mid-County Lawn & Garden, the dealership is now operating as Mid-County Lawn & Snow Equipment under Hanko’s new ownership. While the name reflects an expanded focus, Hanko says customers can expect the same commitment to quality equipment, dependable service, and hometown relationships that have made Mid-County a trusted name in Southwest Michigan under the Walsh ownership since 1974.
The new ownership is led by President Travis Hanko, Vice President Devyn Hanko, and General Manager Jim Butler, whose combined experience in business operations, customer service, and the outdoor power equipment industry positions the company for continued growth.
“I’ve been a Mid-County customer for years, and that’s one of the reasons this opportunity means so much to me,” said Hanko, who also owns and operates the local lawn care company Precision Cutz, LLC. “Barb Walsh built a business that earned the trust and respect of this community, and we’re incredibly honored to build on that foundation.”
The Hanko’s plan to invest in improved customer experiences, expanded inventory and product offerings, enhanced service capabilities, updated technology, and greater commuity involvement throughout the Southwest Michigan community.
“We’re excited about the future and the opportunities ahead—not because we want to change what made Mid-County successful, but because we want to invest in it,” Hanko said. “Our commitment is to continue providing exceptional service, build lasting relationships, and make Mid-County the first place people think of when they need equipment they can depend on.”
An open house is planned for August 15th to celebrate Mid-County’s first month under new ownership.
Mid-County Lawn & Snow Equipment is located in Scottdale at 3959 M-139 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
