Lunch Time Armed Robber Strikes Bank in Three Oaks

Looks like somebody was hungry for other people’s money just ahead of the lunch hour today near downtown Three Oaks, as they robbed a bank at gunpoint.

Three Oaks Police says that late this morning, between 11:40 and 11:46am, a pair of tellers at New Buffalo Savings Bank at 6701 West US-12, which is also known as Ash Street in the village, were ordered to place money onto the counter when confronted by the armed robber who flashed a revolver, took the money and ran.

The robber, identified as a white man ranging from 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and weighing between 150 and 180 lbs, and wearing a white tank top covered by a black zip-up sweater and winter gloves, grabbed the cash and hit the bricks to climb into a dark blue or black older model Chrysler car for his escape. He was last seen heading eastbound on Ash. Nobody was injured in the hold-up in broad daylight.

Three Oaks Police are asking anyone with information that you believe can assist with the capture of the robber, to please leave a message at the Three Oaks Police Department (269) 756-9585.
