Following months of renovation work converting a former gym into a multi-faceted auto group, Nader Hachem has launched phases one and two of his eventual four part business venture on M-139 in Benton Township and is ready to tackle detailing for you as well as auto maintenance issues. Eventually, he will also have a used car lot filled with options and in the long run, will handle collision repair and towing for the region.
Michael's Auto Group is anchored in what was for year's a fitness center alongside Levalley Chevrolet, and clients are already capitalizing on his opening offers of discounted services like $99 full service detailing, $24.95 oil changes, $40 air conditioning re-charging service, and $199 brake jobs including pads and rotors. Hachem is also teeing up used tires from as little as $30 in his June specials line up.
Nearly a year after taking possession of the building at 2160 M-139, Hachem's renovations on the first phases of his business are complete and the doors officially opened this week. Later this summer he will showcase some 40 to 50 used cars of all stripes for sale in the center portion of his large parking lot out front, and by next spring or summer he hopes to have his paint booth in place and collision repair and towing shop businesses up and running as well.
Having named the business after his 3-year old son, Michael, he's realizing now that he's going to have to put his name on the front of his shirt inasmuch as everybody comes in asking to talk with Michael. He jokes with some folks that you might have to wait until he can pick the boy up from his day care center late in the day if you really want to talk with Michael.
Hachem tells me he came to St. Joseph in 2010 to a role as an electrical engineer with LECO Corporation, but has had his hand in auto sales and service for nearly ten years, working with a dealer in Southeast Michigan until he earned his own licenses to proceed with his dream business.
Nader was also a player in the family business of La Pita, the Mediterranean-style restaurant in Southtown St. Joseph until he sold his share to other members of the family to proceed with plans for his auto group.
When the used car lot opens for business, Hachem promises there will be "something for everybody's budget range," and he will also be hiring additional employees for the auto group including new mechanics, detailers, body work experts and others to complete the plan across the board.
