Mini Maker Faire Organizers Issue “Call For Makers”

Are you a techie doing cool things with aerial drones? Maybe you’ve mastered three-dimensional copying, or are one of those folks gathering all the pieces and parts from your garage in a bid to craft your own future robot. Whatever your talent is as an avowed “maker,” organizers of the 4th Annual Mini Maker Faire have put out the call to see your stuff.

The Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth makes a triumphant return to Whirlpool Centennial Park below the bluff in St. Joseph this summer and the official Call for Makers has been issued by the organizers affiliated with Berrien Regional Educational Services Agency — Berrien RESA for short — the team at Cornerstone Alliance as well as the change agents from Kinexus and friends from St. Joseph Today.

The 4th Annual Mini Maker Faire invites all makers…individual and group efforts alike…to make application for participation in the big show on Saturday, June 2nd from 10am until 4pm at Whirlpool Centennial Park in front of the Amtrak Train Depot and Silver Beach Pizza at 330 Broad Street in St. Joe. All applications to be a part of the event are due by May 1st.

The Mini Maker Faire in Southwest Michigan will be a day of family-friendly making, learning, crafting, inventing and tinkering below the bluff in downtown St. Joseph.

Area makers are encouraged to participate in the event. The application window is open now until May 1, 2018, and you can click the link below to make your application:

The SWMI Mini Maker Faire is being produced, in partnership with Maker Media, by Berrien RESA, Cornerstone Alliance, Kinexus and St. Joseph Today.

It’s designed to be a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the entire community.
