New, Expanding Retail Services at The Orchards Mall

The payment of overdue property taxes has proven to be somewhat of a seminal moment for The Orchards Mall as progress has been noted on several fronts ever since, with new stores setting up shop in the center and others expanding as well.

Orchards Mall Manager Danielle Southerland tells me that several stores have expanded in recent months and several new retailers have come on line or will be in the near future.

The Orchards Mall Food Court is active once again with the arrival of Country Lee’s. New to Suite 112 in the mall next month is Spaceship Fly Hover Carts, located at Entrance 3. Also coming to the mall next month is 27 Sounds, plotted for Suite 308A by Entrance 4.

Blessed Kneads Massage Therapy is slated to open next month as well next to The U.S. Postal Service station in the mall. They are locating to Suite 346.

Meanwhile, The Royal Connection will expand their store, relocating to Suite 216 right next door to their current site at Suite 220, with construction slated to start at the end of the month. The store will remain open throughout the build out process.

Slackers Family Fun Center which has a tremendous reputation for great parties and outings has also expanded their footprint in the mall by taking over ownership of the former Colby Bounce Center near Entrance 3. That also means that the Colby Bounce Center operation which had been seasonal will be up and running in the mall year round.

Southerland tells me that the Orchards Mall has several planned updates in the upcoming months. Now that parking lot lighting has been repaired, work on roof and skylight repairs is underway and will continue this month. HVAC repairs are scheduled to begin in July, according to Danielle, with parking lot re-striping which got underway last fall due to be completed in July as well.

Landscapers are due in this season for lawn care and landscaping on the mall property, and Southerland has expressed appreciation for the patience of the community as repairs continue.

Danielle also asked me to share a statement with you saying:

“The Orchards Mall would like to thank the community for all the support over the last few months and looks forward to making positive changes to attract the community once again. Please contact us for any of your leasing needs and questions. Rental rates are very reasonable. The Community Center, Hospitality Center, and Debs Center are for rent for all your event and party needs.”

Southerland is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and has been with The Orchards Mall since last August. She says, “I look forward to building a brighter and positive future for the mall with the community, and welcome questions anyone might have, as my door is always open.”
