Niles Scream Park Opening Friday For The Season

The Niles Scream Park opens Friday for the season. Owner Pete Karlowicz tells us they have seven new attractions this year in their 44 acres .

“There are seven (new) attractions, and everything changes here,” Karlowicz says. “A lot of haunts that you go to, they change a tiny bit here and there. We change a substantial portion of what we have and with seven attractions, it literally takes us the entire year.”

The Niles Haunted House continues on and is the first exhibit someone will see. Karlowicz says they will start planning for next year in early November.

“The day we close is the day we start. People look at you like ‘Really? Be serious.’ And the answer is we are. We start the tear-down and the beginning the day after we close unless it’s a weekend, then our workers get a few days off. But after that, we’re back at it. It takes the entire year to get the whole project done.”

The Niles Scream Park will again be by reservation only this year, because Karlowicz says that went really well last year due to COVID-19. The park will be open Friday and Saturday in September, Friday through Sunday in October, and the first Friday and Saturday in November. More than 65 community groups shared over $109,000 in donations last year from the Niles Scream Park.
